Terms of service
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Plainsight, a service by OneThingSimpler (“we”, “us”). You accept them by ticking the box when you sign up, or by using the service.
The service
Plainsight checks the public pages of your Shopify store several times a day using automated browsers. When a check finds something that looks wrong, we send you an alert explaining what we found and suggesting what to do.
Checks run on a schedule. They are not real time, and a problem that appears and disappears between checks can be missed. Some problems only appear for certain visitors, devices or locations. No monitoring service catches every problem, and we do not promise that Plainsight will.
We do not change, block or remove anything on your store. Acting on an alert is your decision and your responsibility.
Your permission
You confirm that you own the store you ask us to monitor, or that you are authorised to request monitoring for it. If Shopify blocks our checks on your store, we may ask you to create a crawler signature in your Shopify admin so our checks can be identified. Until then, checks on your store may be incomplete.
Our checks never log in to your Shopify admin, place orders or enter checkout.
Fees
Plainsight costs $99 per store per month, billed monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time, and the service continues until the end of the period you have paid for. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before changing the price.
Acceptable use
You may not use Plainsight to monitor a store you are not authorised to monitor, or for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or end the service if you break these terms.
Alerts and reports
Alerts are generated automatically from what our checks observe. They describe what we found and what it may mean, but they can be incomplete or wrong. Please verify an alert, or ask your developer to, before making important decisions based on it.
Shopify
Plainsight is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Shopify. Your use of Shopify remains subject to Shopify’s own terms.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”, without any promise that it will detect every problem or that it will be uninterrupted or error free.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including lost sales, lost profits, loss of data or damage to reputation, even if we were told they were possible.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to Plainsight is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or $100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell customers by email before the change takes effect.
