How it works

  1. Tell us your store

    Sign up with your Shopify domain. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure, and we never need access to your admin.

  2. We check your store

    Several times a day, we load your store the way a shopper’s browser does and compare it with how it normally looks.

  3. You get an alert when an anomaly is detected

    If something looks wrong, you get a short report straight away: what we found, the proof, and what to do next.

Why we built this

Harmful code can reach your store without anyone editing it.

In October 2026, we examined public recordings of Shopify stores and found code written to read shoppers’ carts and redirect checkout to another website. It was delivered through an app’s settings, not the store’s theme, so it would not show up as a change to the store.

Plainsight checks what your store actually delivers to shoppers, which is where a change like this shows up.

Do I need to install an app?

No. We check your store from the outside, the same way a shopper visits it. Nothing is added to your store.

Do you need access to my Shopify admin?

No. We only check the public pages of your store, the way a shopper sees them. We never need access to your admin, and we never place orders or enter checkout.

Is this real time monitoring?

No. We check several times a day. A problem that appears and disappears between checks can be missed, and no monitoring service catches everything.

Will you fix problems for me?

We do not change anything on your store. We tell you what we found, show you the proof, and explain what to do.

Are you connected to Shopify?

No. Plainsight is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify.
